DBA (Administrador de Base de Dados)

We are looking for an DBA to join the team of our client – a reference company in banking and financial sector.

What will be your main tasks and responsibilities?

• Install, configure and maintain on-premises database systems (e.g., SQL Server and PostgreSQL);
• Ensure data backup and recovery policies are in place;
• Monitor and optimise database performance (tuning and troubleshooting).
• Security and Compliance:
• Ensure data protection and integrity by implementing best security practices;
• Work to ensure compliance with financial sector regulations (e.g., GDPR and ISO 27001);
• Ensure the application of security patches and other updates that contribute to the security and performance of DBMSs.
• Development and Support:
• Collaborate with Development and Engineering teams to model and structure databases;
• Support internal teams with complex SQL queries and troubleshooting issues related to database engine performance;
• Monitor database growth and forecast growth requirements;
• Help define strategies and implement measures to combat obsolescence through technological modernisation.
• Documentation:
• Create and maintain technical documentation relating to configurations, policies and processes.

What is required from you?

• At least 3 years’ proven experience as a DBA;
• Advanced knowledge of on-premises SQL Server DBMS management;
• Proficiency in SQL scripting and automation tools;
• Knowledge of high-availability and resilience strategies (replication, clustering, Always On);
• Experience with Postgres;
• Experience in managing performance incidents and database fine-tuning;
• Background in Network and Systems Administration (Windows and Linux OS);
• Knowledge of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing;
• Experience with virtualisation technologies;
• Knowledge of ISO 27001 standards.

In accordance with Directive (EU) 2023/970, the starting basic salary for this role is €40,000 gross per year. In addition, there is a meal allowance, health insurance and other benefits.
