What will be your main tasks and responsibilities?
- Install, configure and maintain on-premises database systems (e.g., SQL Server and PostgreSQL);
- Ensure data backup and recovery policies are in place;
- Monitor and optimise database performance (tuning and troubleshooting).
- Security and Compliance:
- Ensure data protection and integrity by implementing best security practices;
- Work to ensure compliance with financial sector regulations (e.g., GDPR and ISO 27001);
- Ensure the application of security patches and other updates that contribute to the security and performance of DBMSs.
- Development and Support:
- Collaborate with Development and Engineering teams to model and structure databases;
- Support internal teams with complex SQL queries and troubleshooting issues related to database engine performance;
- Monitor database growth and forecast growth requirements;
- Help define strategies and implement measures to combat obsolescence through technological modernisation.
- Documentation:
- Create and maintain technical documentation relating to configurations, policies and processes.
What is required from you?
- At least 3 years’ proven experience as a DBA;
- Advanced knowledge of on-premises SQL Server DBMS management;
- Proficiency in SQL scripting and automation tools;
- Knowledge of high-availability and resilience strategies (replication, clustering, Always On);
- Experience with Postgres;
- Experience in managing performance incidents and database fine-tuning;
- Background in Network and Systems Administration (Windows and Linux OS);
- Knowledge of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing;
- Experience with virtualisation technologies;
- Knowledge of ISO 27001 standards.
In accordance with Directive (EU) 2023/970, the starting basic salary for this role is €40,000 gross per year. In addition, there is a meal allowance, health insurance and other benefits.
